What an incredible way to kick off the new school year!
A record turnout of over 1,400 Scarborough–Agincourt residents who joined us at our annual Back‑to‑School Community BBQ made the celebration a resounding success. The huge attendance certainly reflects the incredible spirit of our community.
It was wonderful to see so many families, neighbors, students, and community members coming together to enjoy a variety of great multicultural music and dance performances, in addition to delicious food, ice cream, and popcorn. The ever-popular face painting added to the fun. Most importantly, it was a wonderful opportunity to connect with the people who make Scarborough-Agincourt such a vibrant and caring community.
Our sincere thanks to the Toronto Police Service 42 Division, the performers, the volunteers, the Salvation Army, and all the local community organizations who hosted booths and helped bring this event to life. Your contributions added energy, fellowship, flavor, and connection to a day that reflected the best of Scarborough–Agincourt.
A big “thank you” to my colleague MPP David for sharing a wonderful afternoon with us. I truly appreciate your support, David!
A heartfelt “thank you” to my staff for their hard work and dedication. Successful events like this couldn’t happen without your commitment to our community. I am deeply grateful for everything you do.
As students, teachers, and parents begin the new school year, we wish you all a happy return to class and a successful year ahead. I wish every student’s year is filled with learning, friendship, growth, and success. To our teachers and school staff: “Keep up the great work,” and to parents: “Thank you for your constant encouragement and support!”
The strength of Scarborough-Agincourt is our people. The Back-to-School BBQ was a beautiful reminder of what we can accomplish when we come together.
