It was a great pleasure to welcome Ms. Nayiri Mkrtichian to Toronto to launch her textbook “HELLO… I AM THE BOOK”. The book is tailored towards the younger generations of Armenians and communicated to them the history of the Armenian people in a modern approach and encourage them to read books.
Mkrtichian is an Armenian journalist, editor, and educator who reside in Armenia. She is highly regarded for her work which bridges the Armenian homeland with its global diaspora, specifically focused on preserving Western Armenian cultural heritage. She is the co-founder of “Yeraguin” (Tricolor), a prominent digital platform operated in Western Armenian dialect. The site was established to serve as an informational and cultural bridge between Armenia and the Diaspora. As well, she has served as the editor-in-chief of the online publication Hayern Aysor (“Armenians Today”).
The textbook is sponsored by His Eminence Archbishop Bapken Charian, Prelate of the Armenian Diocese of Canada, the Armenian Education Department of the National Prelacy, and the Bastrmajian Foundation.
