It was a pleasure to join the 15th Annual Afro-Carib Fest at Thomson Memorial Park in Scarborough and celebrate the incredible richness of African and Caribbean cultures in our community.
For 15 years, Afro Carib Festival has brought people together through music, dance, food, art, entrepreneurship, and culture. This year’s festival was another outstanding showcase, featuring more than 100 local and national artists, a vibrant Afro-Caribbean marketplace, cultural parade, food competition, dance competitions, workshops, and activities for families and children.
I am proud to stand with the organizers, performers, volunteers, businesses, families, and community leaders who make events like this possible. Scarborough’s diversity is one of our greatest strengths, and festivals like Afro-Carib Fest allow us to celebrate that strength together.
