What an inspiring and educational experience at the “ Walking Together in Light – 1000 Lanterns Cultural Sharing” event at the Toronto Zoo, organized by the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto in collaboration with Native Child and Family Services. The event celebrated National Indigenous History Month through artistic sharing, storytelling, and Indigenous culinary traditions.
As we gather during National Indigenous History Month, we are presented with a meaningful opportunity to honour the rich histories, cultures, traditions, and enduring contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.
The symbolism of the lantern is especially fitting. It represents hope, guidance, and connection, values that illuminate our path as we work collectively toward a more inclusive, compassionate, and united society.
