Chinese Professionals Association of Canada Recipients of Funding From Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development
April 28, 2026
I was delighted to visit the Chinese Professionals Association of Canada (CPAC) office to relay to the organization that they have been the successful recipient of funding from the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD) in support of their pre-apprenticeship training programs.
The funding includes $425,832 for the Electrician Construction and Maintenance program and $411,362 for the Welder program. These initiatives will be delivered in partnership with Centennial College and Durham College, respectively.
CPAC has a long-standing track record of supporting newcomers and youth from immigrant families through skills training, credential recognition, and employment pathways. Its pre-apprenticeship programs play a vital role in preparing participants for in-demand skilled trades careers while helping address labour shortages across the Greater Toronto Area.
CPAC’s work continues to make a meaningful impact in our community by equipping individuals with the skills needed to succeed in the workforce. These programs will help build a stronger, more inclusive economy while supporting Ontario’s growing demand for skilled trades.
